While the chance to play in front of an audience has been restricted over the past year, producers have had ample opportunity to work on their music. Vito had a great 2020, putting in the hard work and being rewarded with multiple releases, and his start to 2021 shows that he will be one to watch this year.
After journeying into the world of tech house with the collaborative Project 37, the Birmingham-based producer teamed up with Connor Gibbs (a.k.a Notiv) in their heralded edit of Alicia Myers’ “I Want To Thank You” which gained a spin on Kiss FM by the legendary Sam Divine and DJ SKT. He recently released his debut EP on Kubbo, including remixes of “God Damn!”, “Plumett” and “Work Ya Body” from Gustaff, Meisterik and Lessone respectively. Following this, he appeared on the Kubbo “New Talents V2” release with his track “Coupe”; all this in the first month of the year!
Vito is clearly an artist emerging on the radar of many labels and DJs at the moment. If January is anything to go by, he will have a fruitful 2021 and if all goes well, might even be able to play some of these records in clubs in his hometown. The percussion in his tracks really add to the groove in his productions and I was lucky enough to experience his exhilarating performance in a club environment last year.
Vito should be on your streaming favourites and having recently been added to the playlists of established names such as Tomi & Kesh, I’m looking forward to listening to the future records that he puts out this year. He also recently reached number six in the Beatport release chart with his collaboration EP with Carlos A “Bereph”. Surely this year he will be looking for that illusive Beatport number one, but for now, he is a part of House Music’s Most Wanted.
