The first edition of the Selective Hearing mix series is from Kent based DJ and Producer – AllDis. Throughout the year, AllDis has successfully been releasing music on labels such as New Violence Records and his debut EP will be released next month following previous Various Artists volume feature – “The Chant”. His music has been supported by minimal tech house duo Tomi & Kesh and he has also managed a feature on house legend Roger Sanchez’s playlist. Also check out his radio show on Sound Garden Radio on Tuesday’s 2-4pm, a slot which he has held down for the majority of lockdown.
This mix features deep house and minimal records along with groovy tech house. At the beginning AllDis introduces the listener to minimal percussive influences and deep bass lines. My personal favourite has to be the 2nd record by Marko Zalazar and Juan (AR) track “Violence”. The bass line sound sits really nicely in the mix and is complemented by synth chops that add to the deep flavour.
You should also listen out for some unreleased music from AllDis. The record in question has a driving acid tone and high energy feel so make sure you follow him on insta – @gregalldis – for details about its release. Following on from this tune, Greg mixes in more acid house grooves but the Near and Far record – roughly 45 minutes in – has to be my favourite in the whole mix. What I like about the record is the heavy bass line and the vocal processing adds a nice dark feel to the drop.
Keep an eye out for future Selective Hearing mixes; we think this has set the tone for the sort of high quality, underground artists whose music we will be supporting within the dance music scene in the future.
