Growing up on the soulful notes of artists like Stevie Nicks and Ann Wilson, 20 year old Maggie Miles has drawn her influences from all corners of the industry, combining a mixture of modern and vintage textures to create fusion of bedroom-pop with a smattering of 90’s grunge. To say her latest release ‘WHATDOISAY’ is anthemic would be an understatement, offering a deliciously expressive and refreshing taste of a well traversed genre.
When asked about the songs meaning, Miles explains that it “analyses the questions that everyone wonders in certain situations. What do I say when I’m losing my faith, when I don’t know what’s going on, when I’m not sure I believe anymore?” — An explanation that bleeds with sentiment and relatability.
Originally from the Western Hills of Northern Virginia, she recently moved to Nashville to pursue music full time, following in the footsteps of her father who played in a Celtic rock band during her younger years. This led to a management and artist development deal with Warehouse West Entertainment, including features on Billboard and American Songwriter.
This stimulating new release comes from her debut full-length album, out on May 22nd, following on from an American tour with upcoming shows in Bowling Green, Atlanta, Austin, Dallas, Houston, New York and D.C which is sure to boost her already promising reputation across the states.
